Well....I dont know....... I suppose that one would start the day drinking coffee and trying to pick up waitresses. Then, go patrol some area where there might be some quail and chucker to hunt. That would do it until lunch. After lunch, some good ol investigative fieldwork trying to find a shady spot to spend the afternoon in would probably do it for until about 4:00 when its time to head back to the station.
Seriously, the BLM is way underfunded for law enforcement. When you think about the scope of crime in the desert ranging from drug and illegal alien smuggling, methamphetamine labs, murder victims being dumped and all of that combined with a multitude of unruly OHV enthusiasts running amock in the OHV open areas its amazing that any law enforcement happens.
If the resources for enforcement of laws regarding OHV use cannot be enforced in an area, then open routes should be limited to a managable network. The Juniper Flats Sub Region has been designated for limited multiple use since 1970. Many of the OHV enthusiests do stay on the designated routes, however there are some that flaunt the rules with a defiant middle finger and a catch me if you can attitude. The only solution that makes sence is to limit the open routes and encourage the public to recreate their OHV toys in the open areas where law enforcement is focused.
