This weekend I was on Route 2 which goes over the gap on the east side of Round Mountain, from Route 1 on the north, back to Route 1 further south. I noticed a well used single track motorcycle trail that parallels Route 2 just on the east side and then this trail appears to head east paralleling Route 1. The road is right there and yet there is the duplication of this motorcycle trail. I'm sure this is representative of the concerns you have been speaking of. Realistically, I don't think there is any possibility of controll of motorcycle or OHV travel in the remote and hard to access areas these trails go. The very few BLM enforcement people who work this area may, on rare occasions, catch a violator, but as anyone familiar with this situation knows clearly, the conduct of various riders out there is uncontrollable in this situation. Its clear that the increased population in the high desert area will put more riders in those hills, and more trails will be the end result. I have seen motorcycle riders all over the terrain along the hills north of Deep Creek, trails or no trails, many of these riders just go where they want to.
