Asking that Ranger Nelson be held to a high moral standard may be an unrealistic expectation, Laughing Bear. However, we should expect him be held to at least a minimal standard as a public servant.

It is becoming apparent that an under-the-table agreement was made by BLM with the OHV community. Following the Willow Fire, complaints by local residents regarding the non-compliant use a new trail were ignored by BLM law enforcement. Neither did BLM acknowledge compliance in its creation.

This illegal trail was first acknowledged by BLM and presented to the public as a last minute inclusion in WEMO as trail J1299. Stating that it had been "overlooked" in the earlier process, BLM and the OHV community sought to avoid the required public forum. However, complicity within BLM became evident and the unanticipated vocal reaction from the community has resulted in the present BLM route survey.

The word is unoffically out that BLM will use the survey as supporting eyewash to rubber stamp their nefarious deed.
