Because of the harassment by Fred Moss' tenants (John Ware stars in some of the Bowen History postings) over the Ranch, the New York Owners stopped paying Mrs. Bowen in about 1984. This caused financial hardship, but more importantly Mrs. Bowen was grieved to hear of the violence by the next tenant Gary Krower ("the growler"
and his friends.The commonality is Fred Moss and his attempts to take the Bowen Ranch through his tenant's various actions. John Ware, Gary "the growler" Krower, Mike Castro; this is the line of violent tenants Fred Moss used to gain possession of the Bowen Ranch buildings & land. In the background, Fred Moss created his chain of title through numerous property transfers between family members and family trusts. In 2002 Fred submitted his tricky deeds to the title company and the county to launder these deeds into legitimacy.
