Yes, but I thought it was what I call a coyote. It looked exactly the way Wizard described it. I could not get close enough to make a positive i.d. It was in the canyon at the start of the trail of least resistance. The 1st canyon as you leave the parking lot. This is where I also have seen deer many times. As you start going down hill I look off to the right, on the oppisite side of the canyon. There is a seperate canyon going out there.
Foxes are much smaller than coyotes and most dogs, and I'm told they hate the smell of humans. This one was about the size of Tuka.
No offence L.B. but if the deer you saw was stiff, doesn't that mean rigomortis has set in. Meaning the deer had been dead at least 24 hours?

Mojave Green is the real fox here, who is this person? Jus wonderin' :~)
And is he bigger than Tuka?
