Again, you have misunderstood me. I did not claim that the current owners of this parcel was Hoffman, etal. You are correct; those parties did maintain ownership of the Bowen Ranch buildings during the period of the lease. However, their ownership of the buildings ceased at the expiration of the lease. They used the vehicle of a lease to give them time to address the real problem of not having their buildings on their own property. However, they failed to use any of the other options prior to the termination of the lease. The buildings remained on Moss Ranch. Consequently, Hoffman, etal lost ownership of those structures to Fred Moss. The separate tax parcel for the Bowen buildings ceased to have meaning at that time also. The reason that the taxes were delinquent was that there was no longer any interest for Hoffman, etal to protect. Of course, the County was not a party to the lease, had no knowledge of its conclusion and so continued sending the bills. That is why you were not able to get a change of ownership when you submitted the quitclaim.

There has been no new owner of the separate tax parcel for the Bowen buildings subsequent to the expiration of the lease. As I said, the Bowen buildings became the property of Fred Moss since they were still located on his property. The protection afforded by the lease was now gone. That is why Fred Moss was able to lease the Bowen Ranch buildings without further opposition from Hoffman, etal.

If you found a document showing Hoffman, etal as owners, it is an outdated document. The lease is a consequence of the court case, and post-dates the court action. The lease negates anything that transpired before that. The events that started the ball rolling are very colorful, but have no legal basis as a current argument.

Anyone who believes that there was any easement or property attached to the separate tax parcel is being deceived. The property description clearly states that it is the buildings on LEASED land.
