Yes I remember Eagle and Star, his lady friend. Rainbow family if I recall correctly. Sunlight and Firefly were another couple that were around , but I dont think they lived at the Bowen Ranch. They lived up at the old Eagle's nest in Arrastre Canyon.I also remember Jeri as well. I was just a skinny hippy kid back then. That was when the road went all the way down to the creek. Lyle and Annie had the Moss Ranch after the Ware family split and we spent countless hours there playing music and hanging out. Not much trouble with Gary Krower then as nobody cared about the dollar at the Moss Ranch and Lyle was a crazy ol woodcutter. Annie is still around down in town as well as Cindy Lee. I will have to get her to post here about her experiences. I lived there camping out for a while in 1975-1976 and eventualy moved into the old Welcome Ranch in the fall of 1977. There was a bad drought that year and all of the water dried up. In December,it started raining. Day after day and storm after storm. In february, a massive Pacific storm rolled in with 90mph winds and it blew the corrigated metal roof off of my cabin! We took refuge in my old Metro Step Van and rode the storm out. It then snowed for three days straight! 36 inches on the ground with 6 foot drifts. We were snowed in for 3 weeks until we could fix the road and get a vehicle out of there. To stay warm, first we burnt the clothsline, then the hitching post. Since we ate all of the chickens, we decided to burn the chicken coop as well. When the snow melted, all of the little canyons ran with water for a couple of months. That was the winter of 1977-1978, an experience I will never forget.
