I want to thank Jobe for his thoughts and words reflecting the concept of letting go of the past and focusing on peace and goodwill. We really cant do anything about the past except learn from it. My only motive here is to see "William's War" come to a peaceful end.
When I returned to my land in 2000 after the fire, I ran into Pope Don. I expressed regrets to him about the events of the past and gave him a tree to plant as a gesture of peace. He accepted it. I then drilled a well on my land to avoid opening old wounds. Don was still playing the water game and his next victim was my neighbor, the infamous Hotspringer Roe. He cut him off over something trivial ,probably because he was my friend or something like that.
When Pope Don was finally cited for stealing water everyone in the Village got a good laugh. The water wars are over at last! He left the area and nobody is sorry to see him go. I hope he finds peace wherever he has gone and lets go of the past. I believe it is time for peace on the mountain. What does Katrina think about this idea?
