Paul P.,
Thank you very much. Once again govt. double speak raises it`s ugly head. This map calls the creek here deep creek. However, the locals call this hook creek. Why ? Because that is what it is. You must hike another 1+1/2 mile down stream to pick up deep creek. I happen to be very familiar with this area. Like the road says Hook creek road . That is because Hook creek road goes to hook creek. Get it? You can hike @ 2 miles up stream and you will find 100`s perhaps 1000`s of clear water springs. Bubbeling up from the sand. Go down stream @ 1 mile and there is a very good diving hole, called the devil`s hole. The water falls @ 40 ft. into a deep round hole. The last time I did a triple flip was here. Double flips are easy though and fun.
The government is attempting to scare people w/ misinformation. This T-6 crossing is not near deep creek. Deep creek starts at least 1+1/2 mile down stream and forks itself further up stream. Check your forest or farce service maps or the delorm, I am going 4 mine . What these scounderals won`t stoop to to scare people w/misinformation. What a farce ! And all this time I spent trying to get this info. Wandering if the rangers were going to give me still another ticket.
To find this T-6 crossing look at the map for lake arrowhead, find the Cedar Glen road exit off hwy. 173. going east from lake arrowhead. Find Hook creek road east of here, follow that to hook creek. All east of deep creek. I am recalling all of this from memory. I`m going home to dig up my map. I hate it when the govenment lies. :~(
I wonder why ? What is their purpose?
