I can agree with the this "yahoo." Obviously no one wants to see a police state down at the springs, but what normal human being isn't dismayed and disturbed to see parents smoking pot around their small children. Not only is it dangerous to the children (if something happens to them at the springs the parents are in no capacity to think clearly), it's sad to see kids being brought up with parents who set that kind of example, that it's okay to act slow and stupid by being drugged out. I'm not in favor of outlawing anything (I favor legalization) but I'm still disturbed by the selfish choices I see parents make. It makes coming to Deep Creek a less pleasant experience.
One of the great things about Deep Creek is the freedom we all have down there. But that freedom implies individual responsibility - responsibility to respect others and the springs themselves. When I see people smoking cigarettes that blow right in the face of others, or have dogs running around harassing others, or are loud and jumping around such a peaceful place, it makes me sad and makes me not want to come back to the springs. Maybe some of you would be happy about that ("who wants a tightwad there, anyway?), but I'm a respectful person who keeps to themselves and always treats the springs well and cleans up my own mess and others messes, too. If we really love these springs than it would behoove us all to help make the culture down there amenable to people who feel the same way.
