Hello, is it safe to come out now :-) I took a number of pictures of the tightrope walker we saw last weekend. I'll put some at the Wizard's pictures link when I get them developed. It was one of the more interesting things I have seen at DCHS. Also about a week and a half ago I was sitting on a smooth granite boulder on deep creek after a refreshing dip, then as I layed back to enjoy the sun I noticed a wild behive in a sycamore tree about 20 feet above me. I got closer to check them out and could see some honeycomb within the hive. I figured since they weren't showing any aggression that they were not those Africanized Killer Bees that are around in some places in So Cal. Found a small brown bug that looked like a dead piece of Sycamore leaf, very well blended on a Sycamore tree. Toward sunset a animal call echoed from across the canyon. It sounded like a small dog and I though it might have been a fox. It called out a number of times but I never saw it. On another hike out from Deep Creek my daughter Amber and I came across a small ( 15 inch ) Rosy Boa on the trail. They are very tame and I let Amber hold it for a bit, then she let it go. I really enjoy the quiet, natural settings around DCHS :-)
