Then I went back to the actual written police reports at the time (6 1/2 years ago) to find out for sure. So, excuse the Widow Bates for remembering incorrectly after all it was six and a half years ago. Why would Widow Bates not direct the sheriff to the last place she knew her husband was planning to be? Why would she do that? To interfere with the locating of her own husband? Then spend thousands of dollars looking for him for years all over the country and even in Mexico? That does not make sense laughingbear and that is why I went to the record which is the most accurate as to what happened. Not a memory six and one half years later. When are you going to quit with this repeating the Widow Bates' mistake as to her memory of six and one half years ago.
