If yer heddin' up the coast, when you get to San Luis Obispo, check out Avila (nude) Beach! Very C O O L. Easy to find, too.
And if ya go that fer, you'll run into the Hearst Castle on yer way up north. Then there's Big Sur way up there and campgrounds at Plasket Creek near B E A U T I F U L Pacific Grove on the way to Big Sur. The coastal route (Highway 1) is a really nice curvy, cliff-side drive overlooking the Pacific.
