Also, Ron the hot springs are in the San Bernardino National Forest. If you are shy you should know, most but not all the people at the hot springs are naked. So don't be too surprised! And after jogging it is best to get in the cold water of deep creek first, as the hot water may zap your strength. And I should say bring lots of water too. But if needed you can drink the water right as it comes out of the springs. Put it in your bottle and let it cool 1st. And for another work out. You might try this. Staying on Hwy. 173 past the before mentioned parking spot. Continue another 4-5 miles. This road is one laned in some places and very curvey. Once you get back to pavement again there is a small turn off on the right side with a small tree. This is still hwy 173, park here. You can see a mobile home a little way off with dogs that bark. Once again there is a trail that meanders through some trees. Then you can see the Mojave river. After the spill way this is deep creek again. Again I never had any problems here. This route is a gradual climb to the springs, about 4-5 miles. You can also ride a good Mt. bike here. You may need your forest adventure pass here too. When you leave from here. you can stay on Hwy. 173 @ another 15 miles and get back on I 15 in cajon pass. Do not forget a map. And remember -- leave this place nicer than you found it-- that will be thanks enough 4 me. Enjoy.
