I would like to clarify again what Jim Pepper's comic was expressing was that Mike Castro had made this statement about his concern of being thought of as "hispanic" due to his name. Mike Castro made this statement and Jim Pepper quoted him in his comic. I am not at all prejudice and the fact that we are still dealing with prejudice about other races and cultures is disappointing to me. We are all human beings and have more commonalities than differences.
I also would like to clarify that if Mike Castro, Kevin and Tanya want to charge a toll for access across their property that is their right. However, I think they have an implied responsibility because they are profiting from the public accessing through their property. They also should comply to health and safety codes, offer bathroom facilities and provide receipts. In addition, I do not approve of physical violence and threats.
My HUGE objections has always been their interferring with the public's right to access public lands through violence, threat, intimidation, vandalism of vehicles (I believe Mike Castro is involved), shooting towards people, chasing people down, chasing people with guns, etc.
If they were quietly and peacefully just minding their own business over at the ranch and conducting themselves properly, I would never had said a word.
