I have heard from a friend who rides in the country around Oak Hills that the USFS and Sheriffs are getting real tough on the off road riders in that area currently. They are also checking for spark arrestors because of the intense fire danger for this upcoming summer season. Today up in Oak Hills near a spec house I'm building there was a small brush fire. When I hiked down into the Deep Creek canyon this weekend the hills were all covered with very thick low vegetation a foot to 18 inches high in spots. Any flame hits that stuff after it dry out and the fire will spread rapidly. I heard last week that some hot shot crews have been hired this season specifically for the San Bernardino National Forest.
