In todays local Daily Press paper there is an article ( Thursday, 17th ) entitled " Davis asks Bush to declare fed emergency for forest ". This article states that the U.S. Forest Service spokeswomen Ruth Wenstrom says that the forest destruction is so severe that federal officials may close the San Bernardino National Forest during this summer. DCHS is in the SBNF. DCHS is a long way from all the big dead trees in the higher elevations, but as we saw in the fire closure last fall, DCHS got closed too. Enjoy the springs now because it may be a long dry summer for of all of us DCHS soakers.
