Katrina your recent post is essentially correct. I would add that the many people, over the years who have told me about thier negative experiences with Mike Castro are folks who for the most part do not know about Katrina or DCHS INC. Some stories come from people who do know of, or about Katrina and DCHS INC. I have alway had to consider the saftey of my family in regards to expressing my concerns here at this forum, about these issues related to the Bowen Ranch, and Mike Castro. DCHS is a place I hold dear, and I am just not one to sit back and say nothing when I feel that people associated with the springs, the visitors, are being treated unjustly. As I stated in a post I did entitled " Ostriches " on 1-18-03, " The more I hear, from differant sources, the more things are coming into focus. Stories upon stories, with the same general theme, some form of negative behavior coming from Mike Castro. Unreasonable negative behavior. So many stories, the same theme, from people who don't know eachother says to me there is definitely something to them, and its not mass hesteria. There are also many stories of praise for Mike Castro, I know that for many people Mike Castro is nothing but a nice guy to them and I accept that as a truth, however I also beleive, from what I have learned, that Mike Castro, also indulges, for whatever reasons, in negative aggressive behavior. I believe he has trouble controlling his anger. Many of the people that see only his nice guy, good side, just refuse even to consider, even consider, that Mike Castro is capable of these other negative things, or, they explain his actions away, or justify them. As Katrina stated, my appraisal of Mike Castro has developed over alot of years and because of the frequency of my visitations to DCHS I have had an opportunity to get to know the people there pretty well, and have heard more conversations there than basically most the people who ever visit the springs. On the one hand I beleive, as many people say, that Mike Castro is a nice guy to them, and has done alot of good things for people up at the Bowen Ranch. On the other hand I beleive he has done alot of illegal things, and has been abusive to other people. Now just because he is nice to a certain group of folks does not excuse him for the other bad things he has done to others. I've got no problem with Mike Castro the nice guy. But many folks would agree with me that the negative, illegal antics need to stop. The negative deeds from Mike Castro in the past will never be forgotten or forgiven by some affected. It is my opinion that Mike Castro does less negative things than he used to, in part, due to the exposure he has gotten here at this forum, the informatin shared makes all people who see it, more aware and watchful. Also the areas of contention like the Moss Mill road are closed so there is less friction at these old spots of trouble. Maybe too, since Mike Castro is getting older like the rest of us, he is just getting tired of stirring things up, but as with his recent brewha with Gary Roe, Castro still has his days. My hope in the end, in all my discussions here, is not for the purpose of taking anybody's rights away. I speak up to help in what way I can, protect the rights of specifically visitors to the springs that have been treated unjustly. Thats it. I don't go by the Bowen Ranch and taunt Mike Castro, I don't tell anyone to go and do him harm, I just want to see people go to the springs in peace, treat eachother with dignity and respect, and enjoy and care for that special place that I know is very important to the lives of many of us.
