After our most recent visit to Deep Creek on spring cleanup day, Mrs Bear and I took the long way home with air in all of our tires. We arrived at "the Tin Palace" just before sundown. After dinner,we decided to go to town for ICECREAM. Yummmmm. As we started down the driveway,we realized our tire was flat. Bummer.......no icecream!
When I took it in....it was discovered that I had a puncture hole but no nail. I dont know if there is a connection to anyone elses experience, but there seems to be a pattern here as my friend Wizard points out. I dont believe I was the victim of vandalism as I check tracks around my vehicle every time I depart and return. There was nothing to indicate someone came near my truck.
The only way to catch a vandal is to stake out the area and watch. If anyone chooses to do this, bring a good book as its boring and tedious to just sit there when the Creek is calling. Without a verified witness, the cops will do nothing. A witness along with physical evidence is what it will take to stop this behavior. A camera with a telephoto lense is an asset to get a picture of the vehicle used by the vandal.
