This should be a great year for wildflowers. The variety up in the deep creek area is a sight to see. One of my favorites is called rattlesnake brush because when they dry and blow in the wind they sound like rattlesnake rattles. When they are just blooming, they look like chinese lanterns and range from light pink to deep maroon. Then there are the delicate yellow and white petals, with black middles, and fuzzy stalks. The delicate pink ones. Then really unique are the live for ever flower. They are succulents with a soft lime green stalk and yellow/orange flower. These flowers grow out of the rock crevasses. I have seen them near little hawaii. Little hawaii is a place where there is a cold waterfall and you can drive there.
