Katrina, Regarding what you have posted about Big Changes I would be more concerned with what the USFS is intending for the area since DCHS is in USFS lands. The BLM never seem to listen to the public anyway so they will do what thier gonna do. The last time I talked to Brad Burns I asked him if there were any changes upcoming that would drastically change the access options to DCHS and he didn't mention any. Since HWY 173, which is south of DCHS and within the USFS lands is a main road used by the public I don't see them closing that road and you could use the Bradford Ridge trail to access the springs. It would be nonsense for the USFS to make DCHS so hard to get to like a six mile hike from the Mohave Dam. That would definitly prevent most of the very young, old or physically challenged people from getting to DCHS. DCHS is loved by many people who I'm sure would speak out loudly against any action like this. Hopefully DCHS stays reasonably accessable but I also have seen major changes in other areas of So Cal concerning access issues so you never know, we shall see. The changes suggested by Katrina are one of the good reasons for a group like DCV to have a list of contacts ( concerned DCHS visitors ) who could write letters of disapproval if the access was made unreasonable.
