You raise a good question as well, DCR, and one that we will have to consider carefully. My own feelings are mixed on this. On the one hand, I do not want to "advertise" for more visitors, but on the other hand I would like for the "advertisements" that already exist to be factual and to include good etiquette suggestions, as our brochure does. I think the number of visitors is going to keep increasing as desert communities continue to grow and places for city-folk to recreate become more scarce, but numbers alone are not the biggest threat to DCHS; the habits and manners of users is a bigger threat in my opinion.

Something to consider, though. For the benefit of the springs and to decrease usage, how many of us would be willing to stop visiting? I say this because, while we all recognize the problems and potential problems of increased usage, none of us would want to be the ones who stay away. (although there are people who have made that very choice)
