It is probably for cases like these that the USFS has requested we put their official wording on on Deep Creek Volunteer's brochure. Their wording states that "Violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization or imprisonment for not more than six months, or both." I guess these stronger fines are reserved for those that do not take smaller ones more seriously.
I agree that we should respect the USFS requirements and that is an important part of DCV's message.
Suzy Jack, although the springs are real nice this time of the year, with this current storm you will need to be aware of flash floods and be sure the creek is corssable before attempting to cross it. Let us know how it went once you do go.
