Well DCR, I missed you again. My wife had to work Saturday so I took the munchkins on a hike to the springs. On the trail down we ran into a swarm of butterflies on the trail, just like in my dream :-) On the way down it was very breezy up higher in the hills. It ended up being perfect weather at the springs and very comfortable. At one point about 15+ boyscouts came along the Pacific Crest trail and made a stop at the springs for a swim. I'm sure they all successfully got thier naturist badges and an eyefull to boot :-) Latter in the day a regular who does alot of cleaning got a little miffed about the trash and the bad smells around the womb area so he took the drain out of the womb and drained it and splashed the rocks around the pools with water. I took the bag of trash he had collected and took it out with me along with some more I had picked up. There is a large trash bag sitting by a large granite boulder on the beach across from the hot pools. It is very full and needs to be broken up into smaller amounts to be carried out. I already had a bag full with kids in tow so I wasn't able to get any of this trash. I will get some of this trash on my next trip if its still there. I had several people complement me on taking the time to bring my little ones into the springs and one made a comment that I should get father of the year award! Well that was real nice of him to say :-) It is a good test of patience to coax a 2 and 3 year old in and out of that canyon. On the way out they are usually more tired so I have to use all my bag of tricks to keep them moving. One of my tricks is to tell them that we have to get back to the car before it gets dark because the monsters are starting to come up the mountain to get us :-) My little two year old looks down the hill and says " Monster Coming " and then they hit the gas for a minute, maybe, then its back to my bag of tricks. I just talk to them alot which keeps thier minds off the distance. Its really fun for me to be able to share the springs experience with them! Happy Soakin!
