I am glad to report that this project was a success. The hole in the wall of the Anniversary pool was larger than I expected. A section two feet long had been knocked down all the way to the base and the wall is about three feet high at that point. In addition a couple of stones had been knocked off the wall close to the end where it spills over towards the womb. From the rocks that were dispersed and the location of the damage it appeared to have been vandalism with the intention of steeling the piece of abalone and arrow head that had been embedded in the cement.

We had a good team of DCV members and non members there to help. The team included Laughing Bear and his wife, Sycamore Laughing, Paul, Scott and his son Matt, AZ Mike and I. Hope I did not miss anyone. Paul, AZ Mike and Scott did most of the cement work themselves. Between Paul and Mike they had just enough cement to get the job done. When I left Sycamore, Paul and AZ Mike stayed to keep a watch that no one would fill the pool up or lean on the wall while it was still setting.

Beyond the repairs the springs where full of people. The womb and serenity pool were literally packed full. Amongst the visitors there was a large group of Japanese hikers that came in along the PCT and another large group of cowboy horse riders that were quite loud. Laughing Bear made a run through the area after they left and was pleased to find that they had only left behind five bear cans that he collected and packed out.

Apart from the hard work, Paul and Sycamore found time to do some of their artistic rock stacking, we all did a little socializing, and had time for at least one good soak. The weather was fantastic all day, and it was so warm that I was able to hike out nude in January. Can you believe it?

Thanks to all the hard workers that did these repairs and helped carry the materials and tools in and out. It was a pleasure working with you all and a great team effort! Look forward to seeing you all again soon.
