I think the decision to close the area was a sound one on the part of the USFS. The potential danger was apparent on my last visit there and a break from all of us until the rains will undoubtably benefit the area. I agree with Paul P. as well: members of Deep Creek Volunteers should set an example by being consistent with our stated views and putting off that next soak until the rains bring some relief to the area.
