The Deep Creek area has EXTREME fire danger every year.The Willow fire never would have happened if the ORV area near Squints Ranch been monitored instead of letting the ORV crowd run amock.The official cause was ruled to be an ORV,however many other theories abound.The fire was mismanaged by USFS officials and it blew up.
The animal population is really stressed out by the drought so maybe this temporary closure is a good thing.I have seen too many campfires being lit by campers on windy evenings this year and it makes me nervous.I stopped having outdoor fires at my place months ago even though there is no law to prevent my from having one.I was burned out 3 years ago and do not want it to happen again because of somebodys good time getting out of control.We will see you all at the springs this winter
