DCR,
In our last meeting, we arrived at a consensus that voting should be done by those present at the meetings only, UNLESS your view has been made known otherwise, i.e. through email to Ron or through this forum, or by some sort of proxy. At least that's what I understood, slightly differently than what Sycamore said in this thread.
So, if you can't make the meetings for one reason or another, be sure to stay tuned to this forum for voting issues. For example, the issue we're now working on is the wording of the brochure that will be handed out to visitors and inquirers. The wording for that brochure has been posted in this forum previously, printed and presented to the group in our last meeting, and now we're fine-tuning it. Sorry you missed out on all the fun. Your input is as important as anyone's, but like the rest of us, if you want to participate, you'll have to stay informed one way or the other.
Also, prior to each monthly meeting, we create an agenda for the meeting. So, if you have an issue to bring up, submit it to the group here in the forum or by some other means. Ron appears to check this site regularly, as do I and others. If you can't make it to the meetings and have something to add to the agenda, let someone know by posting a message to that effect.
Meetings are held: The LAST SATURDAY of EACH MONTH @ 1PM @ the GRASSY AREA UNDER THE TREES above the ANNIVERSARY POOL. Questions, comments, and suggestions can be directed to the group's email address: deepcreekvolunteers@hotmail.com, as well.
One of the issues on the next meeting agenda, matter of fact, is about membership. There are some concerns about "paper members" as Sycamore mentioned. We talked about it last meeting, but I don't expect that we'll completely resolve or come to a consensus on that issue in the next meeting either, due to the fact that Ron says he'll be out of town on our meeting date, and he pretty much heads things up and prints and distributes the offical agenda at the meeting.
At this point, I'd like to invite Sycamore or Ron to recap her recollection of the membership issue to bring you up to speed (since this post is already getting rather long). Perhaps you'll have some good input on this topic.
