There was a soaker at deep creek who died from ameobic encephalitis years ago.A microbiological study of the hotsprings water reveals a wide variety of bacterial flora present,even in the water that flows into the crab cooker.In 30 years of soaking there,I have never become sick from the water however,I quit drinking the hot spring water years ago after a friend had samples tested.
