Thank you for your correspondence(s). I apologize for not having gotten back to you more quickly.

I think it's a good sign that legal matters didn't progress further than they did with the incident you described, but you're certainly correct that naturists are at risk from enforcement agents who don't know the law they're paid to enforce. From time to time we're forced to respond in court to improper enforcement, but that's an expensive way to defend our rights, and it introduces additional elements of risk.

The Naturist Education Foundation and the Naturist Action Committee are working on educational programs and material that will help us address the source of this problem. Misinformation and prejudice among enforcement agents and family services case workers create enormous problems. Even if we win in court, the process itself is often a causes of great loss.

As it impacts Deep Creek Hot Springs specifically, we're looking at the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, the Bureau of Land Management, the U.S. Forest Service, and of course, Child Protective / Family Services. Can you think of additional jurisdictions that should be included?
