Reporters are going to write stories about interesting places, no one has to tell them necessarily.
There was story in the LA Times November 1999 about the Deep Creek area. I have no idea how the reporter came to learn of Deep Creek or the issues he wrote about.
There was another story in February 1999 in the LA Times which may have been solicited by the BLM because it was mostly a story on how great a job Ranger Nelson was allegedly doing. The reporter wrote of Mike Castro's blocking access as a means to funnel hotsprings' visitors past his "toll shack". Look at the very last article under this link:[url[http://www.deepcreekhotsprings.org/mossmillblmlies.html[/url]
From what Emmett Berg told me, the editor at the LA Times talked to him about doing a story about Deep Creek. Emmett Berg went to the springs in December.
Emmett contacted me in February.
I have purposely not publicized Deep Creek with the media.
