My point about the roads is that it would be impossible to bring in a 2 lane highway through the canyon, and all the gas stations and parking lots that a spa town would require. You would need all those things in order to create a viable spa to attract wealthy city-goers. That was my point. For example, the hot springs in Beverly Hills have been turned in to fancy spas, but that's because of their location and accessibility.
