Laughing Bear, I was at DCHS the day a couple of years ago when the flash flood came and brought all the black muddy soot. I was just getting ready to leave and then I heard the sound of the flood. The creek was at its normal level for late August. Within about 15 minutes the creek had risen to within about 8 inches from going in the Womb. I have two pictures in the links below from that day. I think one is in the " More hot springs pictures " link and the other is in the " Wizard's pictures " link. These photos show the amazing foam that formed on top of the creek during the flood runoff. The first picture was taken from on top of the cliff above the Crab Cooker looking at the creek and the second picture was taken while sitting in the Womb looking out to the creek. I had to swim across the flood and was quite dirty when I got out. I took a number of pictures that day. I'll try and locate them and put a few on the Wizard's pictures link for people to check out if they want. That was a very interesting day. Thanks for the brother comment Mr. Bear :-)
