I like "Deep Creek Hot Springs Volunteers" because it is short and to the point. I think I was one of the the originators of the "Conservancy" name, but I agree (with EastBay) that the name sounds like we need an office, banks of phones and fleet of cars.
"Deep Creek" must be in the name as well as "Hot Springs" since the name is not just for us, but for others, like the BLM, USFS and news organizations. I agree with Wizard in that Deep Creek is a long tributary of the Mojave River stretching from the ski runs high in the San Berdoo Mountains to the desert. We're mostly concerned for the environment of the springs area
Like it or not we must be in this campaign for the long haul and be respected for our purpose, hard work and clout. The government agencies will run right over us if they paint us as a crew of stoner, naked hippies instead of dedicated activists.
The name, whichever one we pick, should say "Springs", not "Spring's" since there is no possession implied.
I hope the meeting goes well. Enjoy the weekend.
