Sycamore,
The property issue keeps reappearing on this forum because Katrina will post something that relates to Bowen Ranch property or any number of related issues. Then there are some of who will counter or reply back. If we're discussing land issues, it's because Katrina brought it up in the first and that to me, just leads us in the wrong direction and we lose focus of what I think we should be discussing here. Maybe you feel the way I do as well, I don't know.
But no matter who we believe or side-in with, we need to focus our efforts towards the trash and / or liter problems at springs itself. I sincerely prefer to brainstorm with anyone regarding the hot springs and what or how each of can do to deal with the visitors who are doing destructive things to the place. We can deal with them if we stick together and make them aware that the destructive things they do, affects other visitors.
I really hate this idea of every time any of us go down to the springs, I somehow end up carrying-out trash left behind by others. We may be giving a message to the violators that there is a trash removal service at the hot springs. We keep trashing the place and keep picking-up after them.
I think much of the trash or liter that is left behind comes from those who visit the hot springs during night hours. It doesn't necessarily mean people are down there partying, but rather they have bad habits or don't care or something to that affect. But I believe it is those visiting the springs in the night hours is when most of the destruction takes place.
I guess what I would like to see in the near future, is that we get a group of concerned hot springers together and pay the party types at the springs a visit and let them know that we're not happy of the trash being left behind by them. Maybe by doing this over a short period of time, we could steer them straight or by making them aware of the liter problem. The visit we would pay them, would be non-confrontational.
Any ideas, anyone interested? Anybody, let's from ya........
