And the next reply from Tanya. I think Tanya has presented two great replies here, 5/8 and 5/9/02. I know who's side I am on.

Katrina-Gail, I have seen the copy of our Grant Deed that you posted and obviously since you obtained through county records, Fred Moss could not have doctored it. It was sold to us without an easement,as you may well ,I hope, have noticed. On the Chalfants grant there is a paragraph which begins SUBJECT TO:General and specific taxes for 1964-65;rights,rights of way and easements for public utilities, water companies;alleys and streets;and covenants, conditions and restrictions now if any.
On our Grant there does not exist such a paragraph. There is a very good reson for this-an easement no longer exists across this property. Why would we endanger our family by allowing the general public to walk across our front yard? Would any of the arguments to try and relieve us of our rights as owners be even considered if this were occuring in a housing development? I would never try and walk across your yard without your permission. That would be an odd thing for me to do,don't you think?
Kevin and I purchased this property because we love the Juniper Flats area.
We plan to build a home and make our future there. Its not just Deep creek, although we both care deeply about what happens there too. I would like to know the answer to oneof Bruces quetsions to you-are we now part of your feud? If so, why? Fred Moss probably would have been just as happy to take your money as he was ours. He is a businessman, after all. I am not sure if there was specific reason he sold it to us.Whatever else we are grateful for it. We couldn't have dreamed eight years ago , when we first started camping up there that we would someday have our own little corner. I am sorry the opportunity has not presented itsself to you, but I don't know why you should be angry with us because it has. We have carried large amounts of trash out of D.C. over the years and helped rescue lost people(with the dreaded Michael ).We have seen none of the ridiculous allegations you present here. We certainly weren't worried about becoming his neighbor-we have kids and try to choose our neighbors carefully. I have seen idiots of every description be turned away from the Hot Springs by your villain and I have seen very very nice people who also like Michael and what he has done for the area.I have never posted on this website before, although I have looked at it on a fairly regular basis. I am more than a little offended that you posted our address without our permission. I did not write the letter to the public, I have no problem with the freedom of information act, and don't care that you have read it, but am downright angry that you saw fit to post it publicly without our permission. I believe you behave more than a little irresponsibly on this site.I think many of the people posting here are genuinely interested in keeping the springs the way they are,but I also think that even by having this site you are drawing unnecessary attenition to it.Some of the biggest fools I have ever had the misfortune of encountering have come to Deep Creek by way of the internet, Thanks to you and William Schweiss.Think about what you do, please. It affects all of those who love Deep Creek. We need to work to help the Creek-not ourselves. There are so few places like Deep Creek anywhere that people are actually allowed to enjoy. Lets preserve it the way it is!
