Perhaps the owners of this wonderfull website and forum can take the first step toward unity in helping Deep Creek by removing all the personal slander. Is this a web site for Deep Creek or a platform to attack the owners of Bowen ranch? What we(the people)have today is a choice.Free access to deepcreek is easily available via public lands. There is also an option to park on private property for a small fee.Since Bowen Ranch is private property, the owner has a right to say who can and cant park there.
Not so with public lands. It is open to everyone.Free access means just that. The BLM and USFS have an option to charge the public as well and will do so if improvements are made such as sanitary facilities and parking improvements. So,how do we best protect Deep Creek?By keeping things quiet and low key.Throwing rocks at the beehive is not the way to get honey!
P.S.that picture of Ronnie Bates is creepy. Its my understanding that he was in the area hiding out from the law.Nobody really knew the guy.Why dont we replace it with the smile of Cote,a true friend of the hotsprings. We all knew John and you cant help but smile when you think of him.Although he died at the Bowen ranch,I have a picture of him on the porch of the Moss mill with friends from DCHS inc.How bout it Katrina?
