Yes, a woman in her early 40s died yesterday of heat exhaustion hiking in Malibu Creek state park, in the Santa Monica mountains. After that, they closed the Santa Monica mountain park trails. Today they closed all the nearby National Forests, including SBNF - so Deep Creek is officially closed to all access due to extreme fire danger with the heat. I'm still seeing people on the interwebs blabbing about how they are going to go to the springs anyways ...
