I was hiking in lower Deep Creek today, upstream a ways from the Mojave Forks dam. It was hot going in around mid morning, then when I arrived at a spot by the creek the clouds quickly grew and covered the sky. There was rain, winds and lots of thunder ( also saw some flashes of lightning ) then in late afternoon the storms moved off to the west. I saw on the weather channel that Forest Falls got some pretty big hail. The cloud cover was a nice break from this intense heat wave. Death Valley recorded 130 on Sunday!
