That red marked route that goes from the Bowen Trail to the warm springs is actually a way motorcycle riders illegally ride into the canyon at the warms springs. About the last half of the route is a very steep sandy/dirt hillside. If it was hot to warm you would not want to try and go back up that steep mountain. I've done it before, its a grudge march. My cousins were down in that area visiting me and friends one day in the summer, and then when they left early to hike out it was still hot, they lost their way and ended up going up that hill in the heat and said it was horrible and took them about two and a half hours. Lucky they were young, had water, and did not get heat stroke. I've seen illegal riders come down that hill numerous times, but have never see one go back up it. There are other ways they get out of the canyon like the way the old road went down there. There are no legal routes for Motorcycles anywhere near the canyon out there but the hills are laced/crisscrossed everywhere.
