This is why I have been saying for years that there needs to be A joint effort between the Forest Service, the BLM, and a solid committed volunteer group to work on all the issues related to the springs. Access is one of the biggest issues. What happens if and when Mike closes off access through Bowen Ranch? Will the BLM improve the road to the Freedom Trailhead? If not, will more people get stuck on that road? Will people drive around the eastern boundary of Bowen Ranch and comedown through Moss Mill to the other parking area? And who is going to stop the assholes doing the graffiti? Will Forest Service actually better enforce the no camping rules at the springs? What about all the sanitation issues at the springs? These are all just rhetorical questions and I’m not looking for answers. Times are changing and it will be interesting to see what the future holds for Deep Creek Hot Springs. No one wants to see the springs permanently closed.
