I saw on the news this evening that Running Springs got 7.26 inches of rain out of this storm. I also saw some photos posted on face book by some local people showing the Mohave River flowing the most out of any storm this winter season. With that much rain falling at higher elevations the Deep Creek area of drainage is getting a whole lot of runoff, and even melting the snow from the last storm. I think this flood will be higher than what was seen in Paulespo's photos. Very nice to have all of these floods to give Deep Creek a good cleaning smiling smiley

Update, I just saw a post on face book posted 4 hours ago showing the runoff at the Mohave Forks Dam. The big tube is completely full shooting out water into the big pool on the west side of the dam. Rock Springs road is covered in flood water all the way across. Water going under the dam in the tube comes from both Deep Creek and the drainage area for the West Fork of the Mohave River, which heads up towards Silver Wood Lake. It will be unsafe to try and cross Deep Creek from the Bowen Ranch side for a while. More rain is forecast for Sunday.
