Paulespo, so there is some sand left on the bottom of the Womb. Don't tell Jobe, he will try to get it all out, if he can winking smiley I was wondering how your going about vacuuming the Womb. I use to have a 20 ft, inch and a half pool hose hidden down there ( so as not to hike it in and out ) and also I had a five foot section of another hose that I could attach to it, combined around 25 feet which I found to be needed to reach the deeper parts of the pool, like the void ( where a hot springs creature of some sort lives ) under the cliff below the miniature palms. With the one end of the hose draped over the side of the Womb down to creek level the other end could reach everything.

Because of the hydraulics of how it all works with the suction, the lower down in the pool you would go cleaning, the weaker the suction would get, causing sand, debris or small rocks to more easily clog the pool hose. I also worked out a way to make it easier by wearing a mask and snorkel so I could watch what I was doing from the surface, then I attached an expandable aluminum pool with grey tape to the end of the hose so I could do the job without having to over and over dive down to the bottom ( wears you out and gets you hot rather soon ). Sometimes when that pool had not been cleaned in a long time there would be almost 2 feet of built up algae laying on the bottom.

Though I have never tried it, I though about the idea of removing the plug ( towel or sand bag usually ) on the dam which lowers the pool level quite a bit, then sticking the one end of the pool hose either through ( don't know if it would fit ) or just into the hole in the dam, then it would be much easier to get to the bottom of the Womb for vacuuming. This however would dump the debris into the Serenity Pool, which being much closer to creek level would make a mess of that pool, and create an even harder situation to clean out. So because of that I have never tried it that way. A 25 foot, 2 inch pool hose would be about perfect but I don't know if they even make such a thing, and it would be a lot bulkier than the inch and a half.

So I'm just curious what is your method for vacuuming the Womb. The other hot/warm pools being much shallower are easier to deal with. Thanks for all your cleaning efforts down at DCHS smiling smiley
