...HEAT WAVE NEXT WEEK...

.High pressure will strengthen over the southwest states early
next week bringing an extended period of very hot weather except
at the immediate coast and at the highest elevations of the
mountains. The peak of the heat is expected on Tuesday and
Wednesday. Nights will be quite warm as well...especially near the
foothills of the mountains and in the deserts.

...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM MONDAY TO
8 PM PDT THURSDAY...

* Temperature...High temperatures during the peak of the heat on
Tuesday and Wednesday in the mid 90s to 104 below 7000 feet.

* Impacts...A prolonged period of very hot days combined with very
warm nights is expected to create a dangerous situation in which
heat illnesses are likely.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Young children and pets should never be left unattended in
vehicles under any circumstances. This is especially true during
warm or hot weather when car interiors can reach lethal
temperatures in a matter of minutes.
