" off the grid ", like my destination of sanctuary yesterday. It was a hot hike but I stayed in the shade during the hot part of the day like the smart desert animals do, then I got some sun on my buns later when it was lower in the sky. Refreshed myself from time to time by wiping water with my hand across my skin, simple but effective. A Raven had been obviously killed and eaten by something where I was at. Black feathers of all sizes were spread around. Maybe a Coyote or Bobcat got it. A couple of Ravens flew over once in a while, perhaps sizing up the scavenging potential for later ( I leave no trash so they will be disappointed ), or checking out the spot where one of there kin folk went to the other side. Hmmm, where would that be for Ravens?
Regarding the cell phone and messages at the springs, what if one brought down a little drone, typed in a text message on it on your phone, then while it was trying to send it like they do for some time until they fail, attach it to your drone and send it up high to make the connection and send the message. Or tell you friend to call you at a certain time and do the same. Would it work? I hope I did not start something with this, future days at DCHS with multiple drones hovering high above sending and receiving messages Back in my time as a young dude our parents would let us go out all day in the wilds, and even on overnight hikes in the mountains, and we had no way of contact, no cell phones, oh the horror, our parents surely should have kept us home safe in our bedrooms
105 is the predicted high here in Apple Valley today. Nice to be out in nature enjoying the summer solstice yesterday
