I have said it numerous times here on the forum before. Our growing numbers as a society is putting pressures on a whole lot of great places in the U.S. , Deep Creek Hotsprings is not immune to this dynamic reality. The USFS " will " at some point have to alter the policies of access to DCHS, that will be unavoidable. DCHS does not exist in some vacum that the real world does not affect. I have used the open routes around the ranch for years. They are little used in comparison to the flood that comes through the Bowen Ranch. You'd think the open routes were a 4 lane freeway and the JF3 trail was a 5 minute escalator straight to the hotpools. Now that this vadalism thing is happening I'm sure you will see even less folks out there. The whole thing about this trail has been blown completely out of proportion. Some of you talk as if there is an army of thugs hangin around out there and marching like ants down to destroy the springs. If any of you went out there and checked it out you would see how lame all this brew ha really is. The legal access roads around the Bowen Ranch are legal. Hiking through these forestry lands are legal. Thats the way I go. Any of you are welcome to talk to the USFS about these ways of access if you don't like them. I obviously don't control what legal access routes are out there.
