Thanks for the post. I've been wondering who you are, but cannot place you from anything you've said, unless you are the Mike I talked to on my last visit. I have spoken to Mike C. on a couple of occaisions, and have heard him talking to others as well. No reason I can see to dislike or disapprove of him, and $5.oo to camp seems like a bargain to me. I really have no opinion on the dispute between Katrina/DCHS Inc and Mike C, as all that I know about it is what I've read on the website. Tanya seems nice, and I don't believe I've ever spoken with Kevin.
I've found the crowd at the springs to be pretty mixed, as most are, but with enough goodwill to go around. Yes, I am also concerned about vandalism, and a bit apprehensive about the new trail, whether or not it is illegal. I am concerned about trash to the point where it has become routine for me to take out more than I bring in. But I am most concerned about potential violence at or in regards to the springs, as this would surely affect the water and all who entered it.
Glad to hear things are only verbal between you and Wizard. Not being familiar with either of you, I kept asking myself whether your bantering with him was in fun or leading to hard feelings. Hope my concern didn't seem like nosiness. We may indeed be able to help the springs if we can work together on agreeable goals.
