Thanks for the extra info. I regularly hike (as in most weekends) 10 to 16 miles with 3 to 5000 feet of elevation. The warning is certainly warranted, especially with the exposure and heat. Given that I tried to share extra info for others with questions similar to mine, I really appreciate you sharing the extra caution.
Having studied the topo maps of the area, i spotted a few areas for potential camping sites assuming vegetation and rocks don't interfere (and in reality you can simply set up camp 200 ft from the road). I intend to record the GPS info and things, if interested I can try to find a way to share with the community. It seems from reading the forum that others may appreciate seeing some other spots to camp in the area?
