...FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR THE MOUNTAINS, DESERTS AND INLAND EMPIRE
WEDNESDAY...

.A very moist and unstable atmosphere, in addition to an upper
level disturbance moving through the region, will result in
thunderstorms producing heavy rain Wednesday afternoon and evening over
the San Bernardino, Riverside and San Diego county mountains and
deserts, and also the Inland Empire. This will bring a threat of flash
flooding to those areas, as well as debris flows from any recent
burn scars.

WEDNESDAY EVENING...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN San Diego HAS ISSUED A

* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of southwest California...
including the following...Apple and Lucerne Valleys... Coachella
Valley...Riverside County Mountains...San Bernardino County
Mountains...San Bernardino and Riverside County Valleys- The
Inland Empire...San Diego County Deserts...San Diego County
Mountains and San Gorgonio Pass Near Banning.

* From late Wednesday morning through Wednesday evening.

* Potential for slow moving thunderstorms over the mountains,
deserts and Inland Empire. Thunderstorms have the potential to
produce heavy rainfall rates exceeding 1 inch per hour, which
could result in flash flooding. Debris flows/mudslides from
recent burn scars are also possible.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take
action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
