Made another after long weekend visit. I expected to find a crime scene but to my surprise the place was not as bad as I anticipated.
I only collected 1/2 of a bag of trash on the trail though I saw some new trash tossed over the cliff. The springs were pretty clean. Somebody must've cleaned the place up
prior to my visit. I collected few bags of trash but by the time I left there were only 2 left on the hot springs side and 5 on the BR side. I made some signs asking people to carry this trash out.
Many folks did - eternal gratitude to those who helped.
I also talked to some PCT hikers.
I carried out 1 1/2 bags leaving one by the lower parking lot sign post. It contained a broken down tent, a small raft and a towel. So I did not worry about coyotes tearing the bag up. Please get it if you park there.
Among 5 left on the Bowen Ranch side there was one that felt pretty heavy to me. I ran out of bags so could not transfer some of the contents to smaller bags.
So if you go there please bring some baggies.
